Strategic Plan Implementation Process
The implementation team established goals and suggested action steps to fulfill them. The team made sure to select the best ideas that will return the greatest value for the investment required.
The strategic planning steering team has designed a consistent and fair process for soliciting, developing, evaluating and selecting proposals for funding to implement projects and programs that will move us forward as an institution.
Summer 2017: Offer proposal training sessions, solicit volunteers to serve on initial Recommendations Committee.
Fall 2017: Issue formal call for proposals and submission date. Continue to provide proposal development support. Convene Recommendations Committee. Elaborate evaluation schedule. Evaluate proposals and make initial round of recommendations. Solicit volunteers to serve on Spring Recommendations Committee.
Spring 2018: Repeat evaluation and recommendation process with a new call for proposals and Recommendations Committee.
Submit a Project Proposal
To submit a strategic plan project proposal, staff and faculty can complete the proposal template.
We can help! If you have a project or program in mind that will achieve objectives in our strategic plan, let us help you submit the idea through the process. We will assign a volunteer to help you complete the proposal template and provide guidance in estimating costs and vetting the proposal as needed.
Training sessions are now available to assist with the proposal development. Sessions will be held in Polk 7 (Idea Lab) and are scheduled for Thursday, July 6th from 9:00 am-10:00 am, Wednesday, July 12th from 1:15 pm-2:15 pm, Tuesday, July 25th from 10:00 am-11:00 am and Thursday, August 24th from 2:00 pm-3:00 pm. Please register for a training session using the signup form.
A committee will be convened to approve proposals on a predetermined schedule. Once approved, requestors will be asked to create a one-page implementation plan using the template provided. Funding will be allocated for approved implementation plans to proceed, with regular progress reports required. The Process Model illustrates the process and can be downloaded as a PDF.
Watch this page for updates as we determine committee membership through a shared-governance process and publish the proposal timetable. We will also keep campus up-to-date through regular email communications and visits to standing committees.
